Master of Science in Computer Science


The MS (computer Science) is a professional degree program equivalent to M. Phil Level as defined by Higher Education Commission (HEC), Islamabad. The Program has been developed to meet AIOU M. Phil level requirements that are it comprises of one year (24 credit hours-8 courses) course work and one year (24 credit hours) research work.


A candidate is eligible to apply MS (Computer Science) program having any of the following criteria with minimum first division from recognized university/institute: a) Masters Degree in Computer Science/Information Technology (16 years)Bachelor Degree (16 years) in Computer Science/ Information Technology/Software Engineering.

Selection Process:

Selection is through GRE (general) type test plus subject area (computer science) through NTS followed by interview of short listed candidates by admission committee.


Two years (4 semesters).

Teaching Methodology:

Face-to-Face regular classes/Online classes (for selected courses)will be conducted at the Department of Computer Science, Main Campus, H-8, Islamabad
