GUIDELINES FOR PGD (CS) ONLINE

1.        ORIENTATION WORKSHOP 

 

Arranged at Department of Computer Science

 

2.        START OF ONLINE CLASSES/ACTIVITIES

23rd July, 2018

 

3.        PROGRAMME WORKSHOP

Students shall be intimated before workshop.

Expected in August/September 2018

4.        GENERAL INFORMATION GUIDELINES

Read this manual carefully before making any query.

                    i.            Program is coordinated by the department

                  ii.            No Study Centre is involved presently

                iii.            All Academic queries should be forwarded to Computer Science Department

                iv.            All Admission & Mailing (Books, CDs) related matters should be forwarded to Director Admission, AIOU

                  v.            All Examination related matters should be forwarded to Controller of Examination

5.1.USER NAME                    Roll Number, use small alphabet with roll number e.g. br123456

5.2.PASSWORD                     contact Asif, LMS administrator at cs.asif1@gmail.com / 051-9057183 (change your password immediately after first login)

 

Note: Login will be active after orientation workshop

 

6.        STUDENT MANUAL:

 

Available on website before commencement of classes. Students can use this manual to learn the use of website to attend online classes, submit assignments, use news & discussion forums and perform other online activities.

 

7.        SCHEDULE OF ONLINE CLASSES:

 

Available on the website before the commencement of classes.

 

8.        SUBMISSION OF ASSIGNMENTS:

 

i.                    Assignments No. 1 & 2 should be submitted online using website before due date.

ii.                  Assignments along with books have already been mailed to students

iii.                Failure in assignment (less than 50% marks) or missing assignments may result into re-admission in the course by paying full fee for that course as per AIOU rules.

9.        ATTENDANCE

 

9.1.Orientation Workshop

 

All students should attend orientation workshop to learn the use of website & to perform other programme activities 

 

 

 

9.2.Online Sessions

 

i.                    Online sessions will be conducted daily as per schedule of online classes available to students at website.

ii.                  Attendance is compulsory in online sessions.

iii.                Absence in online sessions may result into re-admission in the course by paying full fee for that course as per AIOU rules.

 

9.3.Forum

Participation is compulsory in Forums. Students are required to post their questions related to the current topic, to the instructor.

 

 

9.4.Mid Term Examination

 

i.                    Passing in Midterm is compulsory

ii.                  Mid Term Examination will be conducted during program workshop

iii.                Failure/Absence in midterm may result into re-admission in the course by paying full fee for that course as per AIOU rules.

 

 

9.5.Programme Workshop

 

i.                    100% attendance is compulsory in programme workshop

ii.                  Programme workshop is conducted for 5-6 days at AIOU main campus during the mid of the semester.

iii.                Hostel facility is provided to students coming from other regions for the workshop. The students make payment for stay at hostel as per AIOU approved rates.

iv.                Absence in programme workshop may result into re-admission in the course by paying full fee for that course as per AIOU rules.

 

10.    LAB SUPPORT FOR PRACTICAL COURSES

 

Lab support is provided during the workshop for practical courses.

 

11.    FINAL EXAMINATION

Conducted by examination section. Students are mailed roll number slips & date sheet before the final examination.

 

12.    FACULTY

 

The students are introduced to faculty for their courses during orientation workshop. Information about faculty is available on website and in each course.
